The Ocean

The ocean.

The sand.

Has always been a love of mine.

And a saviour in some big life moments…

I remember going to the ocean the morning before my third c section…

Yes, a naturopath that had 3 c sections!! What??

In my heart of hearts, not by choice, but my body didn’t do what I thought it was meant to so it ended up that way.

And the kids were here and healthy and that is all I care about…

The first, an emergency where Leilani was born, was scary and stressful.

Then Zane was an elective and I haemorrhaged and that was scary.

So as you can imagine about to have my third babe and I was so worried about the whole thing….

I couldn’t get the thoughts out of my head that something was going to go wrong. I mean for the other two something went wrong and things didn’t go as I expected. I just assumed from things of the past that it would happen now too.

I had to work on lowering my anxiety about this and it shook me because I knew to a degree it was a synergy of my body, my mindset, my doctor and God working this miracle out.

So I worked at it…

I knew the calmer I was the better it would go and I went to meditation classes and spoke to a coach about this very moment as it was approaching and he took me in my session….. to the beach.

To the beautiful ocean.

He said when you lay down imagine you’re on the beach and when you see the bright lights in the operating table change it to the ️ sun shining bright…

And imagine your most beautiful memories at the beach the whole way through…

Each day I meditated on this and the morning before I asked my hubby to go to the beach before we went to the hospital and when we got there we sat down on the beach…. together …..

Holding hands, I said I was nervous …..

He said it would be ok…..

And then I spotted something in the water – a fin oh wait …. 3 fins…

3 dolphins porpoising gracefully in the ocean right in front of where we sat.

I was so happy, and felt at ease. I took this as a sign, and that’s all I needed and I said to Rod let’s go meet our babe.

Everything went fine…

In fact more than fine…

Just one more thing…

When we got there my beautiful surgeon who had delivered my first was waiting and looked like he was meditating in prayer

I said to him that nice

And he smiled.

So many blessings that day!

And I was so grateful

So blessed

That I did the work beforehand

I noticed something was okay

I found a solution and I created change.

So much of what I do every day now with my ladies…

We see the problem…we shift and change through solutions.

And I see them rise and that’s like a blessing.

The sea can take so much…

Especially when we are diving in deep…

This reminds me of one of our top principles…..

Dive in

Work with nature

Allow the healing to take place

The Backup Plan

Who has a backup plan?

Sort of goes like this ….

A backup plan is the bit that keeps us in the prison of our illness, condition or feeling of stress or fatigue. Because the BUP doesn’t allow us to fully commit and go for it when we go after our healthy outcome or life shift up.

The backup plan will have us settle for less.

Allow us to be hijacked and will lead us into situations where there is little support so we can fall back.

And fall we do.

It interrupts our best possibility for feeling how totally good our body is designed to feel and it makes decisions that won’t ever work for good or be life-changing.

The diet that doesn’t work

The relationship that doesn’t work

The business that doesn’t work

They all have a backup plan

Sometimes a backup plan says to us:

Just eat what you’re eating and then go on a diet in summer;

Or it can say I’ll just wait till I’m more financial and then I’ll leap, but the back plan never will find you enough cash to do that.

Or it will say when my kids are older I’ll take my life seriously then and learn how to care for me then… I know how that one goes!!! It doesn’t work and it drains you to feel completely exhausted, stressed and then guilty and disconnected – that’s the backup plan.

As I have my daily chats to my ladies this week who I love so much because they are so courageous to take the leap to change their health and design a life they love… the one thing I notice is that having a backup plan keeps us comfortable and keeps us in a place in our health that we think is safe.

The backup plan builds this sphere around us where we can’t see other ways to heal ourselves, we can’t see clearly the ways to truly love and take care of ourselves and this keeps the cycle of illness, and fatigue and imbalance continuing.

The backup plan isn’t actually a plan, it’s a story we tell ourselves to stop us from feeling uncomfortable about the changes we know we must make. And in keeping this solid in our daily thoughts about feeling anxious, or the stressful situation, the health problem that you want to just forget about and do everything you can to avoid asking for help or reaching out, this soldier mass feels like a sphere of cement holding us in place. It feels familiar so we stay here and it feels safe.

But what I realised is that it only takes one step outside of this sphere to have it begin to fall away from us. And as we take this step we acknowledge that there is another way and then the backup plan looks like cheating ourselves and we no longer want to be part of that.

Changing our perception towards what supports us, what strengthens us and what heals us from the inside out is about choosing to just begin it. Boldly talking a step means you really don’t want to feel the way you feel anymore and that you want a massive shift in the way you’re existing.

It is this step that is your right and will bring awareness to your health challenge and will connect yourself again. If this is where you’re at and you want to drop the backup plan that keeps getting in the way of all that you desire for your health and your wellbeing then get in touch today.

The Little Hijacker

I don’t know if you saw my video yesterday…if you didn’t here it is again

So, I’m over in Huntington California and I’m doing a big marketing course which is awesome; we have been given the assignment to do a video on our business page live. I am with my gorgeous buddy and we head to a beautiful beach, down onto the sand and get ready for my Facebook live.

Halfway through the live, I hear a mum yelling at her daughter… it was so loud.  Then out of the corner of my eye, I see this mum rushing back and forth and back and forth to the kid on the beach carrying the bags and towels and she was bothered!  The next minute she yells “Get in the car you little shit!” and I immediately wanted to laugh. I wanted to laugh because for a second I was embarrassed that it had happened while on my live, but then I refocused and came back to what I was saying…in that moment of the chaos around me I finished the Facebook live. As I thought about this later I was like “wow here I am on a beach in California and I’m talking to my clients, who I know are tired exhausted and angry at their kids, and frustrated with their lives, their body and their health and I have this woman who I could essentially connect with screaming at her kid”. I thought how I could have got in that moment completely hijacked and gone off track, but instead, I chose to allow what was happening around me and keep on the path.

This is what is going on for my women. The women I help always have these areas in their lives that hijack their health and vitality. They have food cravings, demands of children, they have worry about what they look like, or stress that leads to exhaustion and essentially it hijacks them and their life. But me being present yesterday and not hijacked allowed me to see that we need to become aware of what the first step to learning or changing something is. In your health how are you being hijacked?

Now I want you to go over to our page and see if there is some hijacking going on for you and check out our website and when you get there put in your email and name and this will be the first step to free your health and vitality.

The Indian Wedding

Aging_Skin

Vitality is a celebration happening underneath our skin. Like all celebration’s it is noticeable from the outside. For each of us within it feels like music, colour and life and love connecting together at once.

Woman want to feel alive in their skin, body and soul because it truly makes us feel beautiful. When this beauty begins to be affected by age, stress, exhaustion, hormone imbalances we often feel like throwing in the towel or in my case I looked for the answers out there… somewhere outside of me.

We notice the congested skin and ageing prematurely and feel the pressure of finding solutions to fix the problem. Truth about vitality? It starts within. It starts with awakening these tiny habits, ways of thinking, commitments to yourself daily, what about the rules we have around food and cravings that shift us to nourishment, life and glow. Having lifeless skin is having life nutrients lacking in our body.

How do we close the door on the way of living that stifles our pathway to glowing skin, that blocks the cascade of reactions within our gut, our blood and our tissues? This opens us to knowing how to nourish and nurture and then the results begin.

The result is not a place you haven’t been before. Glowing from the inside is your right Ladies. Inside each of you, there is a Vital Woman. Nourishing is the beginning and supporting a matrix of chemical reactions begins with nourishing first…yourself. Like the life of an Idyllic Indian wedding, the colours, the togetherness, the happiness, the music, the love and the vibrant joy. This is available to all of us.

It’s impossible to be unarmed against Aging when you have Miss Vitality Skin.

ALKALISING SMOOTHIE

ALKALISING

“Alkalising” is the new buzz word for health-conscious people but what is it and when do we know when we are alkalising? Alkaline is a state of ph our body can be in, as opposed to acidic. Everything in nature is either acidic or alkaline in levels, which is why it makes sense that to change from one to the other we can rely on food as medicine to do this. All the answers to our health problems can be addressed by choosing the clean foods to nourish our body’s by elevating our levels of nutrients. When we want to tip the acid/alkaline balance we need to enhance the level of alkaline foods to support our cells and the landscape within and around our cells, since we are made up of 50 trillion cells at any given time. Isn’t that amazing! The body really is a miracle and as we focus on what we put into our bodies we can see that this will transform into what health our cells have. The cells within deliver nutrients to our skin, the largest organ of the body. So, it makes sense that if would like the radiance to glow within our skin we must take an alkaline approach whilst we nourish with natures green foods. So, to prepare for spring we have created the Smoothie Starter to energise your mornings and your skin! Inflammation & Natural Solutions: Focus on Curcumin

Inflammation is usually caused by tissue injury. Pain, redness, heat, swelling or the loss of motion, are symptoms of inflammation. In the skin we see Inflammation in such conditions as Rosacea, Acne and Psoriasis and Eczema.

As a result of inflammation, fluid may accumulate in specific parts causing swelling,  and in the body cause compression of nerves and thus creating excruciating pain. Inflammation is the skin & body’s protective response to tissue injury, pain or to an immune challenge and chronic. Acute Inflammation occurs when the skin or body is alarmed by harmful stimuli (i.e. injury or illness). Chronic inflammation becomes progressively worse over a period of time. The tissue at the site of the inflammation is in the process of being destroyed while trying to heal at the same time.

Research suggests that Vitamin D deficiency may contribute to the development of inflammation. However, there are several other factors, which may be viewed as triggers for inflammation.

The following are examples:

  • Food Allergies: Gluten and Casein promote inflammation in the gut. Foods such as corn, soy, safflower oil, sunflower oil, strawberries, egg, cheese, peanuts and sugar may be responsible for instigating inflammation within the digestive system.
  • Toxic chemicals/fumes that are absorbed through the nose membrane and skin reached bloodstream and caused painful conditions within the body.
  • Polluted Water
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis (joint pains)
  • Autoimmune Diseases (Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus)
  • Digestive problems  (support proper digestion with herbs & probiotics)
  • Stress (emotional/physical)
  • Improper posture
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Obesity may cause inflammation in swollen areas
  • Hormonal imbalance (women in menopause which develop osteoporosis)
  • Cigarette smoking
  • Allergy to plastics or latex
  • Inadequate nutrition: foods high in sugar, processed or fatty foods aggravate inflamed conditions.

Lifestyle changes which may inhibit Inflammation:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Engage in yoga, meditation and swimming for stress relief
  • Consume heart-healthy foods (Omega-3’s)
  • Acupressure
  • Therapeutic massages with olive oil/essential oils
  • Rest
  • Hot/cold compresses
  • Hydrotherapy

Turmeric and natural solutions for treating Inflammation

There are several conventional therapies, which may alleviate the symptoms and severity of chronic inflammation. Alternative therapies seem to provide the least side effects and may yield long-term benefits.

Curcumin is an active ingredient found in Turmeric and is the best known of the curcuminoids. Currently, Curcumin is one of the most highly researched natural substances. Studies have found that curcumin is effective in reducing inflammation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Curcumin prevents pain flare-ups and works as an NSAID (pain reliever) but without adverse side effects. Curcumin therapy minimizes joint swelling, stiffness, promotes flexibility and may help to relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis.

Curcumin has the potential to reverse chronic inflammatory symptoms, thus providing relief from degenerative diseases. Curcumin is also a powerful antioxidant. Recent and promising animal studies suggested that curcumin has anti-cancer and neuroprotective properties.

Unfortunately, curcumin from dietary turmeric is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. Dietary fat and black pepper can enhance absorption. To ensure a therapeutic dose is achieved, good quality supplements will be in a form that is easily absorbed like a complex of Curcumins to improve absorption.

Besides curcumin, there are a number of other natural substances, which can also be used to help ease inflammation. Fish oil, Vitamin C and green superfoods with anti-inflammatory reds are noteworthy:

Fish Oil: Treats ailments associated with ageing. Eases joint pain and swelling. May prevent nerve damage in patients with diabetes and decrease inflammation associated with nerve disorders. Along with protecting the skin and cellular membranes from oxidative stress, this oil is essential for lowering the ration of omega 6’s in the diet which are often plentiful.

It is a good practice to include supplements such as Vitamin C and Curcumin when trying to maintain an anti-inflammatory regiment.
